We believe everyone deserves the home they desire.

After a successful career helping high net worth clients build approachable, modern homes; founder Doris Lee learnt the skills and expertise required to create inviting, comfortable interiors that people can retreat to.

Doris’s mix of functionality with eclectic design soon developed into a philosophy that allowed customers to tell the stories of their life, whilst still creating a space that encouraged personal wellbeing, and a slow happy life at home. In a world where we spend more time
at home than ever, the need for this philosophy has grown exponentially.

Launching The Laidback Home widens the opportunity to share this philosophy. Created for those who are not in a position to hire an interior design studio, or are simply interested in learning skills that last a lifetime.
Priding itself on the highest quality advice, expertise and design allows customers to build their own knowledge and taste. Through clear and concise guides and worksheets that inspire creativity and individuality,

The Laidback Home makes beautiful, liveable homes accessible to all, regardless of their financial positioning.

The interiors our studio have designed have gone on to be featured in international on-line publications such as Architectural Digest, 25 Beautiful Homes & Apartment Therapy. We have also been shortlisted as a finalist for The Sunday Times British Homes Awards for Best Interior Design for our Modern Rustic Stamford Brook home.
Originally from Australia, I’ve lived in London for over 10 years. I am also a self confessed homebody which helps me to understand my clients need to want to relax and chill out in their homes. And I am a wife and mother to 2 growing boys, which helps me keep it real when designing interiors for my clients. I’ve created many different and varied looks over the years but fundamentally I stick to the philosophy that your home should be lived in, rather than shown and showcased. And ultimately,  my expertise is in creating casual and laidback interiors that allow my clients to relax in and retreat to. Interiors that make you breath a sigh of relief when you get home after a full on day out and a space for your family and friends to chill out and relax in that you love so much that you don’t want to leave.
